The Welcome Letter and the Bespoke Letter
Two beautiful letters. Two different purposes.
Every new Magic Mailbag already includes its own complimentary Welcome Letter.
That Welcome Letter is a complete and beautiful letter in its own right. Mirroring the letter found within the Santa’s Magic Mailbag® storybook, it welcomes your child into the tradition, carries their name and unique Magic Mailbag number, and marks the beginning of their Magic Mailbag’s story.
It is not a sample or an incomplete version. For many families, it will be exactly the right beginning.
The Bespoke Letter does not make the Welcome Letter more complete. It offers a completely different kind of magic: the feeling of being unmistakably known.
It is for families who would like Santa’s words to reach beyond the beginning of the tradition and into the heart of their child’s own story. The memories, milestones, tender moments, private triumphs and wonderfully specific details you share are woven into an entirely original letter—one that could belong to only your child.
If you choose a Bespoke Letter with a new Magic Mailbag, it will replace the complimentary Welcome Letter. Instead of receiving the standard Welcome Letter, your child will receive one entirely original letter written around the details you provide. We will weave the personal memories and details you provide into their introduction to the tradition. One letter is supplied.
Three ways to receive a Bespoke Letter
With a new Magic Mailbag
Add the Bespoke Letter to the same order as a new Santa’s Magic Mailbag®.
The Bespoke Letter will replace the complimentary Welcome Letter normally supplied with that Magic Mailbag. One letter is supplied—not both.
Santa will create a newly issued Magic Mailbag number for their letter, and weave the personal memories and details you provide into their introduction to the tradition.
As a standalone letter
No Santa’s Magic Mailbag® purchase is required.
The Bespoke Letter may be commissioned entirely on its own, allowing any child to receive an individually authored letter from Santa’s Mailroom.
For existing Magic Mailbag families
Return to Santa’s Mailroom® for a new chapter in your child’s Magic Mailbag story.
Tell us about the year they have had and provide their existing Magic Mailbag number(located in the bottom left of their Welcome Letter). Santa will write a completely new letter connected to that number and the memories you share.
Please have the correct Magic Mailbag number ready when ordering, as previously issued numbers cannot be retrieved on your behalf.
A new letter may be commissioned each Christmas, but this is not a subscription and it will never renew automatically. Parents simply return and place a new order whenever they would like Santa to write again.

Every Bespoke Letter is individually written by Stausha Keller, children’s book author and creator of Santa’s Magic Mailbag®.
A children’s author understands how to respect a child’s intelligence without speaking over their head; how to make meaning clear without making it small; and how Santa should sound to the child holding the page—not merely to the adult purchasing it.
Your memories and details become the raw material, but the words themselves are authored one letter at a time. No template. No stock story. No parent-written letter simply printed. The result is an original piece of children’s writing, created for one particular child.
Written at a child’s height
Every creative decision begins with the person this letter is actually for.
The language is shaped around the child’s age and emotional world. The typography is elegant but beautifully clear, allowing children to genuinely read, understand and receive Santa’s words for themselves.
A world with somewhere to return
A Bespoke Letter does not exist as an isolated piece of Christmas post.
It belongs to an original story world: Santa’s Mailroom®, the unique Magic Mailbag numbered letters, and a tradition designed to deepen rather than disappear after one December.
A child can return to that world year after year, with each new letter becoming another chapter in a tradition that already knows their name and remembers their story.
They are not simply receiving a letter. They are being given a place inside the wonderful world of Santa's Magic Mailbag.
Magic without conditions
Within the world of Santa’s Magic Mailbag®, Santa is never used as a seasonal behaviour-management tool. He does not spy, score, threaten presents or require a child to perform goodness in exchange for wonder and magic.
Our letters reflect the qualities already alive within a child—their kindness, courage, humour, imagination, effort and resilience. They make room for the bad days, the big feelings and the difficult years without turning any of those things into a verdict on who that child is.
No child will finish a letter from Santa's Magic Mailbag® feeling assessed, watched, or judged. They should feel recognised, reassured and safe inside the magic.
Our letters are created to encourage and uplift, because we believe there’s nothing more magical than a child who feels good about who they are.
The Finer Details—From Commission to Christmas
Creation and delivery
The care of bespoke, without the traditional wait.
Every Bespoke Letter is written and carefully prepared in-house here in Australia. Because it does not need to pass through an overseas production process, the wait is measured in days rather than weeks.
Please allow five business days from the receipt of your completed order for your letter to be created and prepared for dispatch. Delivery time is additional and will vary according to your destination and the delivery option selected at checkout.
Early ordering is still recommended. Because each letter requires dedicated writing time, only a limited number of commissions are accepted each season, and availability will close once all commission places have been reserved.
One letter, one child
Each Bespoke Letter is written for one child and one child’s story. If ordering for siblings, please add one letter for each child.
This allows every letter to be shaped around that child’s age, personality, experiences and emotional world—and ensures each receives something unmistakably their own.
How long your letter will be
Each Bespoke Letter is written to the length its story requires. Many extend across two beautifully presented pages, with some letters reaching three, or more, where there is more to hold. One complete letter is supplied. We do not limit the magic we make to a simple page count.
Before we begin
Please review every name, age, existing Mailbag number and other detail carefully before completing your order. Names will be used exactly as supplied. If you notice a mistake, please contact us immediately; once writing has begun, changes may not be possible.
Proofs are not supplied. You provide the memories and meaningful details; Stausha transforms them into an original letter in the voice and world of Santa’s Magic Mailbag®. If anything requires clarification, we will contact you before writing begins.
The personal details you share are treated with care and used to create and fulfil your order.

A gentler kind of Christmas magic
At Santa’s Magic Mailbag®, we believe every child should feel deeply known, wonderfully celebrated and loved exactly as they are.
Everything Santa knows in a Bespoke Letter from Santa's Mailroom® comes from the memories and details you choose to share. Santa’s words may celebrate kindness, courage, effort, imagination, resilience and growth—or anything else that feels meaningful to your child—but never in a way that suggests their worth, or their Christmas magic, depends on their behaviour.
Please keep your submission positive and affirming. We will never use Santa’s magic to make a child feel watched for mistakes, measured against perfection, or afraid that Christmas can be taken away. We also won’t include Naughty List warnings, threats about presents, discipline, shame or expectations of perfection.
If your child has experienced a difficult year, you are very welcome to tell us. We will hold those parts of their story gently, writing towards hope, strength and who they are becoming.

from the founder
Santa’s Magic Mailbag® began with a wish to give my own family a new Christmas tradition—one that celebrated the goodness already in my children’s hearts and reminded them they never had to earn Christmas magic.
They are the magic. They are what makes the season so special.
I wanted to create something that celebrated that truth.
To me, Santa’s Magic Mailbag has always been about so much more than Christmas morning.
It has become a symbol of unconditional love, acceptance, and a tangible reminder that every child is already enough.
My hope is that this becomes more than something your children look forward to each Christmas, too. I hope it helps them grow up knowing they are deeply loved, wonderfully enough, and worthy exactly as they are.
I’ve poured years of thought into every part of this tradition, from the words on the page to the weight of the velvet, revisiting and refining each detail until it felt just right. When you open your parcel, I hope you’ll feel that care in every piece.
